US History/Technology Timeline

 

Standard Addressed:  11.8.7 Describe the effects of technological developments since 1945, including computers, communication, medicine, agriculture.

 

Objective:  Students will be able to articulate and describe the origins and effects on society of at least 8 developments in the above 4 categories. All categories must be represented.

 

Method of delivery of material: Internet research project.

 

Student tasks: Students work alone and gather the information they need from internet sites. The keep a bibliography of their sources.                                     

 

Assessment: Time Line: technological developments since 1945; include computers, communications, medicine, agriculture. At least 2 in each category. With one colored picture for each of the 4 categories, of one of the inventions or improvements.

Include these essential points:  what development it is, when it came about, how it has influenced daily life and the economy.
